Easter 2012 was magically blissful filled with the sounds of children’s excitement and laughter, to die for weather and amazing food all shared with the family.
The day started with breakfast at my brother’s house and an Easter egg hunt for his two older kids. Watching my niece be so determined to find more eggs than her little brother reminded me of when my brother and I would have Easter egg hunts at our house and HE always had to beat me. We had a leisurely morning playing in the back yard with a new toy my nephew got, canoodling over my newest nephew and even playing Donkey Kong on the Game Boy…now there is a blast from the past.
Later we went to my aunt’s house where we would spent the rest of the day with the entire family. My aunt is a fabulous entertainer and always has the newest recipe, newest drink whether it is the latest wine or martini recipe from Oprah and a funny story to tell. I love standing around the island in the kitchen chatting and catching up over great drinks and appetizers.
The afternoon was spent mixing and mingling in the kitchen (I was put on strawberry shortcake duty), watching the cousins partake in an Easter egg hunt, sitting by the pool sipping sparkling wine and telling funny stories around the outdoor fireplace!
All in all it was a great day had by all.
